Near my house, on the south-eastern coast of Sweden, are many bronze-age burial mounds, rock carvings, and monuments. I found that one of these monuments has a very flat top surface angled 35 degrees and facing directly south. Since the latitude where I live is 55 degrees north, this surface is closely aligned with the celestial equator. On the spring and fall equinox, the sun will skim along the surface. This year, the weather permitted me to capture it on time-lapse video. In these troubled times, it was awe-inspiring to watch this event that has happened for the past 3000 (a rough guess) years. For me, it puts things in perspective.
