I outfitted my Brompton foldable bike with a Sparticle electric motor system. I rode the Brompton across Skåne (100km). It took me about 4 hours 20 minutes. I saw a lot of old churches but the best church at the end served beer.
If I drove a car (which I don't own but if I did) from Brantevik to Lund, I would have used 80 kW-hr of energy (33.4 kw-hr/Gal x 60 miles / 25 mpg. My ebike used one charge 0.52 kW-hr of energy (37V x 14 Amp-hr). So my ebike used less than 1% of energy required by a car. Since I charged the ebike in Sweden which uses less than 5% fossil fuel to make electricity (compared to 70% in the USA) I made hardly any green house gas (except for the rider)....nerding out in Sweden!
