I have designed and built a very inexpensive (~270$) thermal camera based on IoT technology for quick detection of people with fevers. While the idea of thermal imaging for fever detection is not new, the goal of this camera was to make it so inexpensive that it could be placed everywhere, such as entrances to grocery stores, banks, buses, trains, etc (even over the bathroom sink). It's internet enabled (but can also operate without the internet) so you can view or control the camera anywhere in the world (https://vad-kul.herokuapp.com/).
I have made this design open source (https://github.com/Blinky-Lite/vad-kul-tray) so that it can be built by anyone. If people are interested in building one of these cameras (it's not hard), I have put instructions in the link above. If you have questions or need help, feel free to drop me a line.
